Non NHS Services
Private Work Fees
The NHS provides free health care for most people.
It is important to understand that GPs are self employed and not all of the services we provide are covered by the NHS payments to the practice.
Please expect a fee for non NHS services. The staff or your doctor should inform of any charges before carrying out non NHS work.
Some medical services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc)
- Insurance claim forms
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
- Private sick notes
- Private letters
- Vaccination certificates
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Associated (BMA). Please ask one of our receptionists about these charges.
